How to Make an Appointment

We run an appointment system to keep your waiting time as short as possible. To book please telephone or call at the surgery during opening hours. 

For non-urgent matters you may have to wait a day or so at busy times to see the doctor of your choice. If you have an urgent problem, please inform the receptionist who will make an appointment for you.

Please make one appointment for each person wishing to be seen. If you require an interpreter please make a double appointment at reception stating the language is required.

Telephone Advice

If you only need telephone advice from your doctor you can book a telephone consultation with reception.

Please note – When booking an appointment with the doctor it is for a routine appointment only. This does not include double appointments or steroid injections. If you require an appointment for any of these please ring the practice and we will be more than willing to book you an appointment.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

Patients who miss three appointments without letting us know may be removed from the practice list.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception between 08:00 – 10:00 if you require a home visit. Please note we cannot guarantee you will be visited by your preferred doctor.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Late For Your Appointment

Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day-except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
